Photos And Review: Digital Dreams at Echo Beach, Toronto

P1020719An abrupt cancellation on the first day of the long-awaited Digital Dreams sent a crowd of soaked electronic music fans home from the front gates at Echo Beach this past Saturday. The disappointed faces hidden under rain ponchos and creative festival getups were delighted to learn that day two was a go.

Mild rain did not stop a huge attendance from going absolutely crazy to the pulsing sounds of the shortened sets and line-ups from the three stages along the waterfront. High spirits and a non-stop flow of EDM proved that the ever demanded culture of electronic music and dance is in full force.

“I came from Newfoundland for this. I don`t care about how Saturday got cancelled anymore”, one festival goer said as he ran to the stage immediately after doors opened with other eager ravers.

Anna Lunoe, Datsik, Flux Pavilion, Pete Tong, Martin Garrix, Excision and Zedd were just a few names who took the stage to blast their music to energetic and hyped fans. The festival grounds were packed and constantly surging with energy. Echo Beach’s openness and gorgeous view really provided something extra for those who love the atmosphere as much as the music.

The collective liveliness and exuberance from the crowd was immense, even for a large festival. The EDM craze is clearly not just a passing phase for a generation, but something of a grand spectacle and phenomenon that is here to stay. It is definitely not quieting any time soon.
